For the last several years I have been respectfully disagreeing with Grant Gochin over the situation on the ground in Lithuania today (he hasn't been in years). I have been claiming, based on conversations with hundreds of Lithuanians in government and in the private sector, some of whom are my friends , that the people of Lithuania are undergoing profound change, and are ready to deal with the past. The younger generation is eager to know and face the truth. Now, after the leading parties, which include many of my friends, have initiated a coalition to include a rabid antisemite, who parrots classic Lithuanian antisemitic tropes about the Jews being communists and murderers, I have no ammunition left with which to defend Lithuania.
